Law Vs grace: United-Never in confilict

Law and Grace have always coincided

From Torah to Psalms, grace (lovingkindness) and Torah (truth) are never in conflict, but united. PROOF IS IN HIS WORD.

The claim that “law and grace cannot abide together” is not biblical. It actually is an attempt to alter the Word of YHWH. From Genesis to Revelation, the Word shows that His GRACE and HIS TORAH are not opposites but covenant partners. Grace forgives, restores, and empowers. The Torah defines sin and truth. Together, they form the life YHWH has always required and wanted for His people.

What is grace?

In Scripture, grace means more than many have been taught:

In Hebrew, grace is “cḥen” (חֵן), meaning well-favored, kindness, goodwill, have pity upon.

In Greek, grace is “charis” (χάρις), meaning favor, gift, blessing, divine conviction upon the heart.

The Hebrew concept of grace also carries meanings like abide in, bend down, dwell and encamp. This can be found in the root meanings of the Hebrew word cḥen (חֵן), grace.

John 14:16
“And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever.”

Psalm 116:2
“Because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!”

1 Corinthians 3:16
“Do you not know that you are a temple of YHWH and that the Spirit of YHWH dwells in you?”

Psalm 34:7
“The angel of YHWH encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them.”

Grace, then, is YHWH’s favor, kindness, and Spirit abiding with His people, empowering them to obey.

Why does Grace save, and what does the Bible say?

Titus 2:11–12
“For the of YHWH has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, teaching us to DENY UNGODLINESS and WORLDLY DESIRES and to live soberly, RIGHTEOUSLY, and godly in the present age.”

Ephesians 2:8–9
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not from yourselves, it is the GIFT of YHWH, not by works, so that no one may boast.”

The word gift used here is dōron (δῶρον) in Greek and means a tangible “gift” or “offering” presented to YHWH or to another person in acknowledgement of honor, need, covenant, or worship.

Titus 3:5
“He saved us, not by deeds of righteousness which we had done, but according to His mercy , through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.”

Romans 3:20
“Therefore, by the deeds of the Torah no flesh will be justified in His sight, for through the Torah comes the knowledge of sin.”

Romans 7:7
“What shall we say then? Is the Torah sin? May it never be! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the Torah. For I would not have known coveting if the Torah had not said, ‘You shall not covet.’”

Grace saves not by abolishing Torah, but by covering (atonement of sin, restoring/reconciling us, and empowering obedience through the Spirit. Messiah provides atonement for our sins, and the Holy Spirit helps us obey .

📖 What is Truth?

Psalm 119:142
“Your righteousness is everlasting righteousness, and YOUR TORAH IS TRUTH.”

Psalm 119:151
“You are near, O YHWH, and ALL YOUR COMMANDMENTS ARE TRUTH.”

John 1:17
“For the Torah was given through Moses; GRACE and TRUTH and came through Messiah Yahshua.”

Remember, the law itself does not forgive sin. Think of it like getting a ticket from an officer; keeping the law perfectly from that point forward does not erase the ticket already written. Forgiveness comes only when the judge cancels the penalty. That acquittal is grace. And because of that grace, we are moved to walk in obedience.

👉Truth = Torah

Yahshua came not against Torah, but full of Grace and Truth . He taught us the heart behind the Torah.

What is sin?

1 John 3:4
“Everyone who keeps sinning is violating Torah —indeed, SIN IS THE VIOLATION OF TORAH.”

Romans 7:7
“I would not have known what sin was except through the Torah.”

👉Sin is breaking Torah.

📖We find grace and Torah obedience in the front of the book.

Deuteronomy 7:9
“From this you can know that YHWH your God is indeed YHWH, the faithful God, who keeps his covenant and extends GRACE to those who love Him and OBSERVE HIS COMMANDMENTS , to a thousand generations.”

Genesis 6:8
“But Noah found GRACE in the eyes of YHWH.” (Noah obeyed)

Genesis 26:5
“Because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.”

(We also know Abraham was made righteous by his faith, yet he was obligated to obey)

Deuteronomy 9:5–6
“It is not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart that you are going in to possess their land…. Know then, that it is not because of your righteousness that YHWH your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you are a stiff-necked people.” (GRACE)

Psalm 103:17–18
“But the MERCY of YHWH is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children, to those who KEEP His covenant and REMEMBER TO DO HIS COMMANDMENTS .”

Psalm 25:10
“All YHWH’s paths are GRACE and TRUTH
to those who KEEP his COVENANT AND INSTRUCTIONS.”

Psalm 32:10
“Many are the torments of the wicked, but GRACE surrounds those who trust in YHWH.”

Psalm 85:10
GRACE and TRUTH and have met together; justice and peace have kissed each other.”

From Torah to Psalms, grace (lovingkindness) and Torah (truth) are never in conflict, but united. PROOF IS IN HIS WORD.

Grace and Torah are also found in the Prophets.

Jeremiah 31:33
“But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,’ declares YHWH, ‘I will put My Torah within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.’”

Ezekiel 36:27
“I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.”

Isaiah 30:18
“Therefore YHWH waits to be GRACIOUS to you, and therefore He exalts Himself to show MERCY to you. For YHWH is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him.”

Yahshua did not abolish the Torah or grace.

Matthew 5:17–19
Do not think that I came to abolish the Torah or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Torah until all is accomplished. Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

Heaven and earth are still here. So are every letter of the Torah until all is accomplished.

John 14:15–16
“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may be with you forever—the Spirit of Truth.”

John 8:11
“Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

1 John 2:6
“The one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”

We/you need to walk in the same manner as Christ

Paul taught Grace and Torah Obedience.

Romans 3:31
“Do we then nullify the Torah through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, WE UPHOLD TORAH.”

The word uphold is the Greek word “histémi” (ἵστημι), which means abide, appoint, bring, continue, covenant, establish, hold up, lay, present, set (up), stand.

Romans 6:14–15
“For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under . What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!

Romans 2:13
“For it is not the hearers of the Torah who are just before YHWH, but the doers of the Torah will be justified.”

James spoke on faith and obedience.

James 2:17–18
“So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, ‘You have faith and I have works.’ Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”

Even the book of Revelation agrees on faith and obedience.

Revelation 14:12
“Here is the perseverance of the saints who KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS of YHWH and THEIR FAITH in YAHSHUA .”

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are those who do His commandments, so that they may have the right to the Tree of Life and may enter by the gates into the city.”

Holy Spirit and obedience

Acts 5:32
“We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom YHWH has given to THOSE WHO OBEY HIM.

Matthew 7:21–23
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Master, Master,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Master, Master,’ did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’”

Grace that allows sin is not grace at all. True grace is His Spirit that teaches obedience to Torah after we are justified by faith.

Where did the false idea come from? (Torah and grace cannot abide together.)

  1. Marcionism (2nd century), a heresy that pitted the “OT God of law” against the “NT God of grace.”
  2. Church tradition, teaching “law is bondage” and “grace is freedom,” ignoring that Scripture shows grace throughout Torah, Psalms, and Prophets, and Torah written on hearts under the New Covenant.

Grace is YHWH’s favor, covenant love, and Spirit that empowers obedience. The Torah is truth, and sin is breaking Torah.

Grace saves because it forgives and restores what the law alone cannot, and then empowers us to obey. Torah defines truth and sin. Together they reveal YHWH’s covenant promises.

Law without grace is legalism. Grace without law is lawlessness.

Law without grace is legalism. Grace without law is lawlesssness. Again in Deuteronomy:

Deuteronomy 7:9
“Know therefore that YHWH your God is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and extends grace to those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations.”
