Pesach (Passover) — פֶּסַח
Meaning: Deliverance from Egypt by lamb’s blood.
Fulfillment in Messiah: Messiah is the Passover Lamb (John 1:29; 1 Cor 5:7).
Future / Prophetic Role: Memorial in Millennial Temple (Ezek 45:21).
How to Keep (practically): Memorial meal; retell Exodus & Messiah’s redemption; remove leaven.
Chag HaMatzot (Unleavened Bread) — חַג הַמַּצּוֹת
Meaning: Seven days of unleavened bread; removal of corruption.
Fulfillment in Messiah: Messiah’s sinless burial (2 Cor 5:21).
Future / Prophetic Role: Ongoing sanctification of God’s people (1 Cor 5:8).

Reshit Katzir (Firstfruits) — רֵאשִׁית קָצִיר

Yom Teruah (Trumpets) — יוֹם תְּרוּעָה
Meaning: Day of blasts/shouts; sacred assembly.
Fulfillment in Messiah: Linked to Messiah’s return, final trumpet (1 Thess 4:16).
Future / Prophetic Role: Fulfilled at Second Coming (resurrection & gathering).
How to Keep: Rest day; blow shofar; call to repentance; teach on His return.
Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) — יוֹם הַכִּפֻּרִים
Meaning: Solemn day; High Priest enters Holy of Holies.
Fulfillment in Messiah: Messiah’s once-for-all atonement (Heb 9:11–12).
Future / Prophetic Role: Israel’s national redemption (Zech 12:10; Rom 11:26).
How to Keep: Fast; repent; confess; intercede for Israel & nations.
Chag HaSukkot (Booths / Tabernacles) — חַג הַסֻּכּוֹת
Meaning: Harvest feast; live in booths; God’s presence in wilderness.
Fulfillment in Messiah: The Word “tabernacled” among us (John 1:14); Living Water & Light (John 7–8).
Future / Prophetic Role: Nations keep Sukkot in the Millennial Reign (Zech 14:16); New Jerusalem = eternal tabernacle (Rev 21:3).
How to Keep: Build sukkah; rejoice; fellowship meals; celebrate God’s presence.
Purim (Lots) — פּוּרִים
Meaning: Deliverance from Haman’s decree (Esther 9).
Fulfillment in Messiah: God’s hidden deliverance foreshadows Messiah’s salvation.
Future / Prophetic Role: Ongoing witness of divine providence.
How to Keep: Read Esther; feast; gifts to poor & friends.
Hanukkah (Dedication) — חֲנוּכָּה
Meaning: Temple rededication after Antiochus (1 Macc 4:59; John 10:22).
Fulfillment in Messiah: Messiah = true Temple & Light of the World (John 8:12).
Future / Prophetic Role: Symbol until the final Temple reality in Messiah’s reign.
How to Keep: Light lamps; rededicate life to God; read John 10.
